Rough Collies

Thank you to the committee for inviting me to judge on Good Friday and to my wonderful  and efficient steward on the day who led proceedings with a smile. I was pleased that we were able to judge outside which I so much prefer. Thank you to the exhibitors who came out in support and waited so patiently as we were fourth in the ring.

Puppy (3,1)
1. Prince of Sunlight Naomi at Tremaro (Imp Hun)
Immediately eyecatching s/w bitch in excellent condition. Super shape, well balanced and proportioned throughout but I would just like her to be an inch or so bigger all over which I hope could still come. Lovely reach of neck, moves out well indeed, one to watch for the future I am quite sure.  BPIB and Puppy PG4
2. Caronlea Celtic Lord at Collingvale
Almost 12 months flashy golden sable dog I have judged before and is maturing so well. I love his size, form and outline and even as a puppy, has a pleasing masculinity about him that I will look forward to seeing him grow into, for me now he just needs to fill a little more in foreface. Lovely pleasing dark eye and expression and unlucky to meet the maturity of number 1 today.

1. Rhodabern Whisper and Kiss
Beautifully presented, pretty rich shaded sable bitch I have judged before.  I very much like her proportion of length of back to height at shoulder, she is well angulated throughout. Showed non-stop using ears well and happy to say that she moved out well today, the best I have seen her in fact. RBOB

1. McLaughlin’s Rydeen Jamboree at Brihow (Imp Deu) JW
Jet black tri, super colour and presentation. Good strong front and lay of shoulder. Masculine size and length of his head with clean flat skull and well rounded muzzle. I find his dark eye a very pleasingly medium almond shape, set obliquely and creates a glorious melting expression when he chooses to use his ears. I would prefer his rear movement to be more parallel through the pasterns.

1. Collingvale Chardonnay
Eyecatching s/w bitch almost two years old, presented well with a beautifully fitted dense coat, nice length of back to her but I would like her to be an extra inch taller proportionally for balance. Well laid shoulders and nicely angled rear. She has a super clean head and dark eye with a lovely rounded foreface. I found her earset just a little wide , but she stole the show for me completely in the challenge with her movement, striding out effortlessly, light on her feet but with both drive and power. BOB
2. Rahlissa Love Unlimited with Melayla
8 y/o s/w bitch, reminded me so much of one of my own golden oldies and just stood and showed like such an old pro. Apart from her teeth, she is in fine form for her age with what I would consider to be a nice ‘classic’ clean head with good length. She made me smile today, thank you so much for bringing her.
