On Sunday 9th June’13, I had the privilege to judge the bitches at The London Collie Club Championship Show
My thanks to the committee for giving me the opportunity to judge at this friendly and well run show with it’s easy going garden party atmosphere.
I was delighted with the depth of quality of the exhibits and in some classes I was spoilt for choice.
MPB. 6 (1)
1st. Simmons’ Trenley Little Bow, Very promising young lady with a pleasing head pattern, nice dark well shaped eye, giving a sweet expression. Well used neat ears, good length of back with rise over loin, short hocks, which her tail reaches easily, when she stops wagging it! Very well presented.
2nd. Jones’ Erjon Ever So Nice, And she is! Pretty tri of 7.1/2 mths, shows lots of promise. Head handles well, with well moulded foreface, good stop, well used ears. Good length of neck, which is enhanced by her large white ruff. Liked her overall shape.
3rd. Ames’ Trenley Gold Feather of Vorda.

1st. Walker’s Hana of Lowlands Green Valley at Starlenga, When this s/w puppy came into the ring, she straightaway looked the complete package. On handling she did not disappoint. Her head is well balanced with lots of moulding, good stop, well placed sweet dark eye, neat ears in constant use. She is blessed with a wealth of bone. I liked her overall conformation, which allowed her to move freely. In lovely coat and condition, groomed immaculately. I had no hesitation in awarding her BPB and was pleased to see her go on to BPIS.
2nd. Mc.Entee’s Gerian Sun Moment, It would have been very easy to overlook this bitch, because of the fact that she, unlike 1, is not finished. However she has all the head properties required to give a very sweet expression. Her eye is dark and well placed and of the correct almond shape. Used her ears well. Needs time.

1st. Brooker’s Chantique Simply Dee for Corisian, Quality s/w, only just into junior, in full coat which was presented immaculately, and for a youngster she has such a lot going for her. Stood foursquare on well boned legs and neat feet. The cleanest of heads with a well placed dark eye and neat ears, giving her the sweetest of expressions. Loved her overall body shape. Moved and showed well.
2nd. Loader’s Redola Dream Maker, Another quality s/w with a lot of promise. Similar type to 1 in lots of ways and much of the same comments apply. She also has a well-balanced head and lovely expression and good body shape which gave me a hard decision on the day. Preferred movement on 1.
3rd. Growcott’s Jopium Fascinator.

1st. Walker’s Hana of Lowlands Green Valley at Starlenga
2nd. Brown’s Mertrisa Wild Honey, There is nothing wild about this young lady as she was very collected and showed non stop and as her name suggests, she is very sweet. She has the neatest of ears used constantly, which combined with her well placed dark eye, good stop, gives her that sweet expression I look for. Groomed to perfection and her large white collar enhanced her good reach of neck.
3rd. Walder’s Heart of Gold De Cabrenysset

1st. Congdon’s Monsolana Sunwish for Aaronwell, This bitch is a real eye-catcher, in profuse coat that was turned out to perfection. Her head is so well balanced with lovely moulding, beautiful almond shaped dark eye, correct stop, flat skull and well set ears. Good length of neck into well laid shoulders, well angulated rear end and correct length of tail. Good overall conformation, which allowed her to move freely. Her handler has to work hard to get the best out of her at times, but when it all comes together, there is just no denying her obvious quality. R.CC
2nd. Scott’s Chantique Tinkerbell, When standing, this glamorous s/w has only one thing on her mind, how to please her handler. She stands foursquare at all times. Her head is well proportioned, well placed dark eye, flat skull with ears right on top. Her overall conformation is good and she moved very well.
3rd. James’ Deanjan Dawn Memories.

1st. Hodges’ Jopium Ice Ice Baby, At first glance, this blue was not my obvious class winner, as she doesn’t always show herself off to the best of her ability and needs to be handled to be appreciated. On handling, I found that she possessed a really lovely head, with a well-moulded foreface, flat skull with level planes. Nice eye placement, good reach of neck into well-laid shoulders. Correct length of back and a nice turn of stifle. Moved out well.
2nd. Davies’ Chelborn Unmistakeable, I got the impression that this bitch is a bit of a handful to show! Her head handles very well, being a nice wedge shape, good eye placement and flat skull, well used ears. Behind her head she has a well assembled body, which allowed her to move freely around the ring.
3rd. Slater’s Amalie Lynmead Lets Go Alexi to Stanlox

1st. Scott’s Chantique Simply Dreamy, This was just what I was looking for, pure elegance both standing and on the move. Her head, for me, is faultless. She has a well moulded foreface and the sweetest dark almond shaped eyes, which are perfectly placed. Ears are neat and right on top in constant use. With all these elements in place, she had the ability to turn my knees to jelly, with her soft, melting expression. I found the rest of her to be equally as good. Lovely length of neck into well laid shoulders, well sprung ribs, good length of back and rise over loin. Nice turn of stifle and correct length of tail. The picture was completed with a full coat, groomed to perfection. And she can move! I was delighted to award her the CC.
2nd. Loader’s Redola Nice As Spice, Another quality exhibit, stood and showed non-stop. Her head is clean and well proportioned. Dark well placed eye, giving her a lovely expression. Good length of neck and length of back. Neat short hocks. A fitted body coat with lots of frills and petticoats, which was very well groomed. Very feminine bitch. Moved well
3rd. Congdon’s Aaronwell Anything for you.

1st. Brooker’s Triburle Touch of Love for Corisian, s/w in full coat, with a very cheeky expression, who worked in unison with her handler to show off her very pleasing head, which has a well moulded foreface, dark eye of correct shape, well used neat ears. Beneath that coat, she has a very well constructed frame. Showed and moved well. Very well presented.
2nd. Kitchen’s Altnareagh Summertime at Seriema, Slightly bigger bitch all round than 1. Unfortunately, was not in full coat. However what she did have was spotless and well groomed. Because of this, you could see her construction at a glance. She has a well balanced head. Her neck is of good length, as is her back and her tail. Front and rear angles are all very good and her movement is sound and true
3rd. Shipp’s Rahlissa Snow Maiden for Tremaro

1st. Kaye’s Danfrebek Love Child, Very well made tri with lots of substance. Well moulded foreface, good stop, flat skull and neat ears. Lovely dark eye giving her a sweet expression. Ample neck into good shoulders. Length of back is fine, as is her rear angulation. Jet black coat with rich tan markings that was beautifully presented. Very sound overall. Worthy winner of this strong class.
2nd. Brown’s Mertrisa Taste of Honey, In full coat turned out immaculately, and looking so glamorous. Loved her overall shape. I found her head to be very pleasing with lovely eye placement and good stop, flat skull, topped off with the neatest of ears. Moved and showed very well.
3rd. Hodges Jopium Secret Star

1st. Blackmore’s Magenta Simply Charmed, At almost 8 yrs. this golden s/w stood and showed throughout. I found her to be in excellent condition. Her muzzle is well moulded and she appears to have good teeth. She still has a sparkle in her eye. Lovely flat skull, good stop, well groomed coat. Moved well despite carrying a bit of excess weight.
2nd. Philpin’s Little Caramel Jem at Tudorlyn, Shaded s/w, who like 1, has not forgotten how to show and for her age she is in good condition. Her head is well balanced, good stop, flat skull. Well used ears. Overall conformation is good. Very well presented and at almost 11 yrs. she is still moving OK.
