Breed Notes

A message from Margaret Shipp brought news of a lovely win last weekend at Minehead Canine Society Open Show for two of her dogs. Margaret had to stay home to “dog sit” but husband Rob, along with Paul & Paige Ross attended. The judges at this show were Hazel and Derek Allsopp (Sandmel). Their young puppy, Tremaro Kind Of Magic won not only BPIB, but also Puppy Pastoral G1 and then, handled by Paige took RBIS All Breeds. Not to be outdone, Ch Gillyflower was also BOB and took G3.

Another good win was at Rhyl CS were in a smaller than usual entry, Eleri Bluck, handed the dog lead to mum Julie Edwards who piloted Phreelancer Chill Factor, known to all as Ice and won BOB and G4, from judges Loraine Ratter and Group Judge Bev White.

More news from RSCTA (Rough and Smooth Collie Training Association) from Jean Tuck who is Secretary. It involves a few good results for Roughs, as follows:
Wicani Altitude at Imaginist has Gold Award and qualified at Scent work (Level 4) for Di and another of hers, Imaginist Moves Like Jagger who won a Silver, now holds a Good Citizen Gold, Qualified at Scent work (Level 1) and has become a PAT dog too.
Stacy Steven and Cambrogan Blowin A Hoolie not only holds a Silver, but also a Good Citizen Gold Award and has won her way up to Grade2 in Agility
Stefani Flower has 3 Bronze entries, Serenlas Keeping Faith, Serenlas Heaven In Blu with a KC Bronze and an excellent for temperament Assessment and finally Ch Serenlas Obsession holds a GC Bronze.

The Rough Collie Breed Council recently held a very constructive meeting, the Minutes of which will have been circulated ONLY TO FULLY PAID UP CLUBS. Items under discussion were: Cross-Breeding (a statement on this will be issued shortly); Updates on the KC Breed Film for the Breed; Health Issues concerning general issues, including DM; Update of Judges Listing with the aim to provide one general listing, whilst all Breed Clubs are entitled to keep their own listings, a request from the KC concerning holding of BAD/MCE days before 2023, for those clubs who have not yet organised. (If not held, Clubs could well be in breach of KC Regulations!) and finally a statement from the KC
