Breed Notes

Birmingham National Pastoral day was Sunday and despite a few traffic issues, with roads closed and diversions, many gathered to receive their placements from Anders Tunold_Hanssen on his first UK appointment for our breed.

A new name for many, Anders , from Norway,  has held many prestigious positions in the Norwegian Kennel Club and worked with the F.C.I He has had Roughs since a youngster but recently has been connected with other breeds and bred the Crufts BOB winner in Petit Basset Griffon Vendeen in 2016.

He had received a good entry of 118 As usual there were absentees and my grateful thanks to Jo White, who despite poor signals still managed to send down information

It was a good classification, with Special Beginners (and a group for this to be judged by Martin Sanders) through to Veteran, with a group judged by Tan Nagreecha) the main group judge was Gary Gray.
Winning, I think his 6th CC, along with BOB, was the blue merle, Ch Ingledene Mercury Rising JW who won from Open. Owned and bred by Val & John Geddes this is his 2nd CC this year and sired by One Extraordinary Blu di Cambiano out of Ch Ingledene Spirit of Ecstasy.  The reserve CC, and I think his first big award, went to the winner of Veteran in the form of Steve & Jan Williams and their tricolour, Essenjay Dark Moon Rising.  Sired by Van-M Goodfellow at Wicani out of a daughter of Ingledene Mr Majestic (Essenjay Moonflower)

The MP winner was Wisewyn All The Time in the World owned by Miss C Moore from Spalding, Lincs. Originating from Portugal, he is sired by Wisewyn Snow Fever out of Wisewyn World Peace, bred by Ms S Marques he was born October 2021. Puppy was Samantha Parnham and her Caribbean Blue Sky Actis to Samante. Another from abroad, he was bred in Poland by Elwira Zasun and sired by Karibbean Light Silpion Valaquento out of Mtchpl Blackfire Actis and he was born July 2021 and ended up Best Puppy Dog.
There was only one entrant in SBD , Dr Lynda Boyle with her Monsolana Aspire to Inspire over Barrenclough. He originated in Russia, bred by Olga Buldakova and is sired by Monsolana Dream In Blue de Cathyja out of Salsina Weekend Monsolana.

Bitches were headed by Tiganlea Too Good To Be True, and many thanks to John & Caroline Tipper who phoned through with this news. Known at home as Truly, she won her 1st and 2nd CC’s in Ireland from Vanessa Cronk and Jill Oliver at Belfast and Irish Collie. She is a sable, homebred by Ch Tiganlea Too Good To Be Forgotten out of Hazelnut des Vergers des Vergers de Iacchos and is a sister to Int/Hung/Ch Tiganlea Make Good Time who went home to Hungary earlier this year. Second in Open was the CC winner from Working & Pastoral Breeds of Wales, Phreelancer Phaith Hill and she took home the RBCC. She is sired by the late Ch Beldones Black Illusion out of Phreelancer Phond Memories and is owned by Lene Newman.

Best bitch puppy was between Serenlas Pumpkin Spice, a sable at her first show and owned by Stefani Flower. Sired by Ingledene Spirit’n’Venture out of Serenlas Pagan Moon, born in October 2021 and she won MP. Puppy B went to Ann French and her tricolour, Breckamore Pitch Dark. She is by Ingledene Well Sooted out of Brilyn Swirls and Curls, her litter sister; Breckamore Welsh Honey also won her class (Novice) for owner Sue Hawkins.  BPB went to Pumpkin Spice.

Veteran was a nice win for Aniesh Forever Blue with Whatacoo, owned by Steve Watkins and Ann Cook from Derbyshire. Born in February 2014, she is sired by Jealous Guy of Slatestone with Jopium (Imp Lux) out Aniesh Blue Mist.

Special Beginners Bitch was won by Uffspring Ultravox, sired by Ch Tiganlea Tone Down out of Samhaven Unique to Uffspring and bred by Jane Spendelow.

The final awards resulted in BOB to Freddie, (Ch Ingledene Mercury Risin’ JW); Best Puppy to Stefani and her sable, Best Veteran was Essenjay Dark Moon Rising and Best Special Beginners, was, I may be wrong here, the bitch.
