It was an early finish at the Newbury Showground for Southern Counties, for our breed where the judge, an established FCI All Rounder from Finland, Dr Annukka Paloheimo Sergersven was awarding CC’s to roughs for the first time in the UK.
From the Open class, she found her winner, taking a 2nd CC, in the sable, Brooklynson El Dorado, jointly owned by husband and wife, Nick and Anne Smith along with his regular owner handler, Marianne Benton. He won his first CC at Leeds last year from Edith Pryor and was born in Nov 2016 and sired by Shep’s Moondance with Jaysur out of Ch Brooklynson Miley Cyrus.
Standing 2nd in Open, was the last show’s CC winner, Ch Samhaven Ballahanna Banjo, owned by Alison Grainer and handled in the challenge by Linda Lester due to Alison’s other commitments in the St Barnard Ring.
Best Puppy Dog was Takhisis Lysander, a sable bred by Sophie Wray-Ramsden who was present to see this good win. He is owned by Linda Chaplin, sired by Wicani Cloak and Dagger out of Takhisis Aphrodite and he was born 21st June last year.
It was a mixed Veteran class with the first two places going to the ladies, but, standing in 3rd, and thus able to challenge was the dark shaded sable, Ch Ingledene Spirit of Legend for Valerie & John Geddes. Sired by Ch I. Late Nite Legend out of the American import, Barksdale Burning Bushes for Ingledene
The winner of Veteran won her 2nd CC. This was Ladnar Inkheart JW who has only just made her Veteran debut. Her first CC came back in 2016 from Jane Gay (Yagane) at London & Provincial, although she does have a few RCC’s to her name. Homebred by Dave & Sue, she is sired by Ladnar Harvey Moon out of Ladnar Full Circle.
Taking home the RCC, and thanks to John & Caroline who rang me with the results was the RCC winner from the last show, Ch Tiganlea Too Good To Be True, amny thanks to you both, it is good to hear direct from the show.
Winning Puppy was Stefani Flower and her Serenlas Pumpkin Spice, a sable, by Ingledene Spirit’n Adventure out of Serenlas Pagan’s Moon and she was born in October last year.
In the final challenge, BOB went to Dave & Sue, with their tricolour, who was also BVIB automatically. Best Puppy to Stefani and Pumpkin Spice. Best Junior to Gataj One Moment in Time  for Trevor and Brenda Perrott and Best Special Beginners to Aniesh Forever Blue with Whatacoo. And although they stayed for the groups, I do not think any of our breed featured, but if you did, please do let me know
I have had news from Jane Uffspring which I shall include next week concerning Henry (Uffspring Unmistakable) and this along with more agility news from Stacy Steven will also be included.
