Breed Notes 1st April

This weekend saw the Ayrshire Collie Club, under guidance of Secretary Morag McCarte take place with Dawn Muir (Rayawna) judging at the Hurlford Community Centre.

Her last appointment at a Club show was back in 2018 at London & Provincial. Today her entry from 50 dogs gave 83 entries including 1 NFC and, of course, a few absentees.

I understand that along with cards and rosettes, and for the main winners, sashes to remember the win, class winners also received a small bunch of flowers, and a great and happy atmosphere continued through the day. Thanks to Morag and Jim for sending down the information and I hope I have these results correct!

The first class of the day was mixed Veteran and winning this, and his first BVIS was none other than Brodie, better known for his exploits in conquering “Munroe’s, 70 in fact” along with his owner, Stacy Steven. He is known in the show ring as Cariadhaf Crazy Dream.
Other class winners were as follows: Rannaleroch Perfect Storm; Corisian Parisian Magic; Roughrigg Red All Over; Starlenga Curious George; Lillyway Latimer at Nithview and Culbrae Red Again.

Best Dog went to Lillyway Latimer at Nithview, with Culbrae Red Again in reserve; BPD was Corisian Parisian Magic and Cariadhaf Crazy Dream Best Veteran Dog.

Bitches had the following class winners, Lillyway Lemon Sparkle at Nithview, Kleopatra at Intermittent Lake, Thistlewing Spell On You, Takhisis Summer Solstice at Rannaleroch, Uffspring Uniquely Mayd, Starlenga All About Me, Nithview Castleblack at Lynlou, Tiganlea Twinkling Sapphire at Rannaleroch and Paris Venise du Bois des Amazones for Corisian.

Best Bitch was Thistlewing Spell On You, with Starlenga All About Me in reserve. BPB was Starlenga Nina Simone and Telforth Sweet Dreams at Corisian, although 2nd in Veteran was an unbeaten veteran bitch.

Eric Babiak (Eaglefalls) judged the SAC classes, held in memory of Margaret Duncan and found his class winners in: Kleopatra at Intermittent Lake, Uffspring Uniquely Mayd and Lillyway Latimer at Nithview

Best In Show, and photographed in the lovely Ayrshire Club Winners Jackets, which were made in memory of the late Bill McIntyre, was the sable bitch, Thistlewing Spell On You. Known at home as Neave, she is owned by Brenda Welsh.

RBIS fell to the tri bitch, Starlenga All About Me for the Walker/Ritchie family who also annexed BPIS with Starlenga Nina Simone, a blue merle taking BPIS.
