Breed Notes

Sunday 7th saw the Scottish Collie holding their re-arranged Ch show, at the same venue as Ayrshire Collie a few weeks previously. Again, not a numerically large entry for the 2 judges. This was show 31 so far and in dogs resulted in Champion No 9 to add to our listing.

Cath Proctor (Cathbri) whose first CC appointment it was, had the males to assess and from these, there were 28 lads on parade, for her and with a few classes not as busy as the Club would have wished. The biggest class of the day in dogs was Open, with 10 entered and heading this was non other than “Turner”, officially known as Tiganlea Turning Blue. He is sired by John & Caroline’s tricolour boy, Ch Tiganlea Tone Down out of Tiganlea Little Trickster was born in February 2018. He is now the 10th Champion at Tiganlea, and hopefully a few more as John & Caroline have others on dual CC’s too!

He won the class and with it, his 3rd and crowning CC (SKCC) and is, I think the first blue merle champion male now residing at Tiganlea. His other CC wins have also been won in Scotland, with his first from Sue Bird at the recent SKC and his second, later in the same day from Gary Gray at the 2nd SKC. In between these CC wins he has collected 3 Rcc’s at Richmond (Josh Blackburn); Border Union (Cheryl Lockett) and Ayrshire Collie from Margaret Shipp.

Standing 2nd in the class was Melissa Lockyer and her Think of Me Prince of Sunlight at Gataj and he then took home another RCC to add to his collection, so far, of, 2 CC’s and 2 RCC wins. This boy, bred in Hungary is sired by Prince of Sunlight Sweetest Smile out of Prince of Sunlight Just for Me and was born May 2017.

Veteran was won by Robin Blaikie and his Ch Willowdene Double or Quits at Wassail, making a return journey back to Scotland where he was handled in the challenge by Debbie as he already had his other boy, in the form of Kourika King Pin who had won Limit. Other class winners included MP, Nithview Summer of Rockets, who I think was BPD, for Mae and Joan, Melissa with Gataj Out of The Woods taking PD. Chantique Magical Mystery won Junior for Charlene Turner and also her Paulara No Where Man stood alone in Yearling whilst Corisian Parisian Magic who had been 2nd in MP won both Maiden & Novice for the Brookers. The Starlenga Walker family, in the form of Louise Ritchie won Graduate with Norska de Remember Our Love for Starlenga.

Terri Brand was the judge for bitches, this was 4th CC appointment. The first being both sexes at SKC in May 2015 and more recently at YCC where she judged the dogs.

Due to time constraints and severe dental work (extractions etc) , I do know, thanks so much to Caroline Tipper, that the BCC, her 5th went to Eva, known as Ch Jopium Love Heart JW, ShCm who won the Open class of 8 entered bitches but I am not sure if they were all present on parade. The RBCC was the winner of Veteran, Telforth Sweet Dreams to Corisian J. Bred by Pauline Sibbald and her late mother this little sable is sired by Westoak Warlord out of Ch Lynmead Amalie Lucy Locket at Telforth and she was born in July 2013 and is owned by Jo Brooker and family and if memory serves me well, also won this same award when Terri first judged!.
Melissa annexed BPB with Gataj Good Time Girl by won PB and Nithview Summer Blossom won MP

Michelle Mitchell stood alone in Junior with her latest import, Denfris Rocco Borrocco for Avonfair coming in from Russia. Yearling was a nice win for Paulara Lucy In The Sky for Elshajo and Eleri Bluck. Starlenga All About Me won Maiden, whilst Riverside Song Flor D’Luna at Scottyre won Novice. Graduate was a nice win for another import, Millubie Rewind from Serbia. Post Grad went to Jopium Loves To Sparkle at Meryctin whilst Sue Beare and Jemspark Maid In Secret won Limit.

At the end of the day, BIS went to Jo Hodges and Eva (Ch Jopium Love Heart JW ShCm) RBIS to the Veteran lady who also won BVIS, BOS went to the newly crowned blue boy of John and Caroline and BPIS fell to Melissa and her bitch. The In Show awards were down to judged by Lynne Maxwell (Aintshe). Apologies for missing your name out, hopefully this will be corrected next week when last week’s Dental Surgery will calmed down!
