Breed Notes 12th March Fellview is probably not a name that many of today’s exhibitors will be aware of much outside of Scotland, but this small kennel produced some good winners In 1973 Ch Fellview Consort took the Dog CC at Crufts, from breed specialist, Clare Molony (Westcarrs). Born in March 1967, he was sired by Selstoma Sandpiper out of Fellview Amanda. Consort also sired a Champion in Fellview Monarch, out of Fellview Bracken The last Ch from Fellview was Ch F Perstop Pojke,(Ch Arranbrook Mr Chips of Aberhill ex Fellview Highlight, who won his 1st from Mr Ian Butchart at Lancashire & Cheshire CC, his 2nd from Mr J Fletcher at Ayrsahire in 1980m, his 3rd from Mrs C Kingston (Australia) on her only UK appointment for our breed, Fellview Statesman (Litter bother to F Perstop Pojke) won the CC at Ayrshire in 1984 from the late Frank Mitchell, Fellview Highlight, another good bitch from the kennel was mated to Ch Mr. Chips, Ch Aberthorne Arrester and Ch Jefsfire Strollaway and also produced winners and interestingly goes back, tail female to Maude who we featured last week! One of the early bitches to found the kennel was Wendy of Fellview; sired by Fellview Golden Example (Ch Selstoma Safeguard ex a bitch called Delightful Lassie) Wendy’s dam was a daughter of Ch Eden Extra. I write this short tribute to the kennel as the owner, Tom Wall (not to be confused with Tom Wall in Ireland) who died recently aged 93. Carole Smedley |
