2015 has been a very quiet year for Karafaye as far as the show scene is concerned. Quillan attended only three championship shows but was placed at each one of them. I hope to get him out and about more in 2016 now he has a little sister to accompany him.

Faye has been busy as planned on maternity duties presenting us with a superb litter of puppies in April. I would have loved to keep the sable boy but needed to keep a girl for future plans luckily Karafaye Scotch Blend aka Conall found a wonderful home with my good friend Brenda Welsh (Thistlewing). Conall started his show career by qualifying for Crufts at his first show at 6 months old on the day he has also passed his good citizens bronze award “clever lad”.

In July 2016 I was delighted to be able to visit Fayes last litter of pups born 10/4/2016  all together again.  Brenda and I embarked on a road trip to Aberdeenshire. It was so nice to see how they had developed as individuals and watch them play as if they has never been apart.

2016 turned out to be the best show year yet for Karafaye Rough Collies with many BOB and group placing’s at Open and Championship show’s.
Top honours for the year were

Karafaye Black Beauty winning BPIS at Northumberland and Durham Collie Club open show, Yorkshire Collie Championship show winning both her classes then being considered for the RCC.

Karafaye Black Quillan - Best Dog and BIS at Northumberland and Durham Collie Club open show. Dog CC, BOB & BIS at East Anglian Collie Association Championship show, Best Dog at Working & Pastoral Breeds of Scotland CH Show. Darlington Championship Show pressed for RCC.
Karafaye Black Quillan also qualified to compete at East Anglian CA Rough Collie of the Year were he made it down to the last seven in the adult’s.
Quillan also attended * The British Collie Rough Collie of the Year* to my delight he was awarded Runner Up Best Male 2017 (photo below ©Jo Hodges)

I am looking forward to seeing what 2017 will hold in and also out of the show ring. I hope to have some fun with Faye now she is in veteran along with Connie when she has finished growing her new coat.
Quillan is in his prime I hope he will continue where he left off ...

June 2017 -

Quillan continued to be placed at every show he attended.  I travelled to Malvern to Three Counties Champ Show it was a wet day, but nothing could dampen my delight to be awarded 1st Open Dog under renowned judge Betty Peach topped off with the DCC his second could it be possible to be awarded the elusive third only time would tell.

August 2017 East Anglian Collie Club

I was delighted to win the Barbara Blake Memorial Stakes with the handsome Quillan for the second time.

This year our judge was Stella Clark.

October 2017 WOW - What a wonderful return to the show ring for Faye – Corydon La Fayvorita Sh CM.  I took her as company for Quillan to Lancashire and Cheshire Collie Club – Open Show our Judge was Paula Wilson (Valleyhaven)

It was the first time I have shown her in veteran just before her 8th birthday.

I was absolutley delighted that breed specialist Paula Wilson awarded her 1st Veteran Bitch, Best Bitch, Best of Breed.

Mrs V Anderton awarded Faye Best Veteran in Show, Reserve Best in Show.

May 2018 will for me be a month I will never forget who would have thought having only ever bred two litters I would be awarded two CC’s with two different dogs, one from each litter in a space of 6 days. This is truly something I could only have dreamt about.

Karafaye Black Beauty - Connie had not been shown due to taking time to grow her new coat.  I decided to make a last minute entry to National Champ Show I was totally blown away by our Judge breed specialist Nick Smith (Tentola) who awarded Connie the Bitch CC topped of with Best of Breed.  I was gob smacked to say the least. Below is a image of her with our judge and striding out like a pro in the group ring.

The following weekend I had entered Karafaye Black Quillan at Scottish Collie Club Champ show at Bonnybridge where we all enjoyed the glorious spring sun and time with good friends.  The dog judge was Kevin Young (Sunkap) OMG shocked was an understatement Quillan was awarded the Dog CC his 3rd which made him up to the title of Champion.

Quillan is my first home bred dog, first CC winner, first Best in Show winner, first Champion.  He is not only a successful show dog but a pleasure to live with a true gentleman and a bit of a mummy’s boy. I am honoured to be owned by him.  I cannot thank the three judges enough who all saw Quillan’s potential I am truly eternally grateful.  (Photo below)

2018 has been one of my most successful years for my dogs but most of all I have enjoyed the good company of my fellow friends and exhibitors across the UK.

I have entered less shows this year but travelled more miles. I have achieved more than I thought was ever possible.

I can only hope the future will throw up more surprises for my small show team.  Looking forward to 2019 …

After such a successful show year in 2018 for Quillan & Connie how wonderful for their mum to be announced as - OUR DOGS TOP BROOD BITCH for 2018 Faye – Corydon La Fayvorita Avec Karafaye ShCm.

Love her to bits she is a firm favourite with all who know her sincere thank you to Corydon Rough Collies for allowing her to come to live with us she is my foundation bitch I owe everything to her she is one special lady.

January 2019 Connie and Quillan both qualified for British Collie Rough Collie of the Year but I was unable to attend however I was able to take Quillan to East Anglian Collie of the Year held on 6th Jan 2019. The two unannounced judges were Brian Hull & Kevin Young. Absolutely delighted and proud of Ch Karafaye Black Quillan who won Adult of the year and then topped it off with overall Supreme Winner.

13th April 2019 Northumberland and Durham Champ Show dog Judge Miranda Blake. Wow what a day for Karafaye Rough Collie’s my good friend Brenda Welsh won the CC with Karafaye Scotch Blend at Thistlewing & RCC went to Ch Karafaye Black Quillan. So pleased for Conall his first CC he is maturing nicely such a handsome lad I look forward to see what he can achieve over the coming show season.

30th May 2019 was Quillan’s 7th birthday so we took some pictures of him with some of his trophies. I cannot believe he is now a veteran time passes so quickly. I am looking forward to enjoying his veteran career love this lad so much.

Due to the passing of my father & father in law at the beginning of the year I have only attended two shows so far but now summer is here I hope to be out a little more and enjoy the good company of my friends around the UK. Connie has grown a new coat, so she will be making an appearance along with her brother lets see what the future holds ...
