The story of Gramollace
From a young age, I have always been a fan of our wonderful breed, and at the age of 19, I made that dream a reality when I purchased my first collie, a beautiful sable bitch from Mary Darragh (Garronwood). Lacey, gained many First and Best of Breed placings and remained by my side until 2008. Mary and I remain great friends and her advice, support and knowledge has been invaluable over the years. I can never thank her enough.
I remained largely in the background as I married and started my family, but the desire for more collies was still there and when my youngest daughter turned one, I decided to start again.
I knew I needed an affix, and through jumbling my daughters names, Gramollace was born.

At this time, Mary put me in touch with Philip and Fern Sergeant (Coarhabeg) and in Feb 2010, I came home with my new sable bitch Coarhabeg Enchantress with Gramollace.
She is a wonderful bitch and her gentle nature allowed her transition into our young family be a straightforward and happy one.

It was a year after having Penny, and I was looking for my first blue dog. After many hours of research, I contacted Angela Harvey (Wicani) who informed me that she had a blue available.
I had a look at the photos available and there was no doubt in my mind that Kaos would come and live with us. He is an amazing dog with the most loving and gentle nature and vibrant blue colour. He is without a doubt, the boy I've always dreamed of having.
I have campaigned Kaos since April 2011 and he has enjoyed many wins including
3 x Green Stars,
3 x R.Green Stars,
1 x BIS (all breeds)
and many BOB's.
Saturday 10th August '13 Kaos takes the Green Star at Bangor Ch Show for the second year running. Many Thanks to our judge Mrs R Lochs - Romans for awarding him with his 4th star.

In March 2012, I was speaking to Philip@Coarhabeg, and he informed me of a wonderful litter he had bred from Coarhabeg Moonshine x Ch Ladnar Kingfisher and they had a tri boy available.
After much thought, Coarhabeg Sea Hawk at Gramollace came to live with us. |

He is a lively, affectionate boy with the glossiest coat and many thanks to Philip and Fern for recommending him. He is a wonderful addition. His wins to date include championship first placings and a reserve green star and Irish Collie Club BPIS.
He is only 17 months and just starting to lose his coat. I will be campaigning him much more when his coat returns. |
My fourth addition to my kennel was a wonderful dog, again from Angela Harvey
Wicani Rags of Light - 'Rags' -
Ch. Glasgowhill's With Pride at Wicani x Wicani Sunlight Sonata.
I had watched and admired this boy from a puppy and mature into the wonderful sable dog he is today. I was obviously delighted when Angela allowed him to come and live with us. He is a fabulous addition and again, much like my other dogs, has the sweetest personality and a great affection for my young family. He has settled in very well and has gained 1st and 2nd Championship show placings.
I look forward to campaigning him further in the year (2013) when his coat returns.

Our hope for the future.
Mountfield Princess - 'Cinamonn'
Wicani Snapdragon x Susan's Lady

Our new sable pup Cinamonn is owned in partnership with Lynn Hull came to us at the beginning of the year and has been a wonderful addition to our kennel. Due to restrictions and show cancellations unfortunately she won't be shown this year however she will be starting agility with her 'sister' Lizzie (Rosscarr's Breath of Snow) who will be working towards her first title later in the year.
Lizzie has taken to the agility ring so we'll and has completed an 18 obstacle course in under 2 minutes without mistakes. I hope Cinamonn can follow in her footsteps when she begins in September.

I would like to thank everyone who has helped and supported me to get to where I am today, and trusted me enough to love and campaign their dogs. You have all helped me to achieve a long time dream and through you, I have made some amazing and life long friends. You have my eternal respect. Mary, Angela, Fern and Philip, and Christine and Lynn particularly.
The future at Gramollace will be a long, furry and happy one. I very much look forward to it. |
