Hello! I'm Megan, the proud owner of the kennel “Bearven”.
Bearven is named after my childhood home, “Bear Haven”, and it feels like the perfect tribute to my lifelong passion for animals. It's also a fitting name for my Rough Collies, Kenai and Koda, who share names with the bears from the beloved Disney movie Brother Bear.
My journey with the Rough Collie breed began after years of researching the right fit for me—loyal, sensitive, kind and biddable. I was captivated by their temperament and knew that this was the breed I needed in my life.
It all started with Kenai, my sable male Rough Collie, who came from Di Collino at Imaginist Kennels. He was my first show dog and, after his first few shows, I was hooked! Thanks to Di’s mentorship, I caught the “show bug” and began training Kenai with dedication. This has led me to explore new activities with my dogs, including paddleboarding, hiking and travelling to new places. We even have a growing social-media presence where we've proudly represented the Rough Collie breed at events such as Norfolk's All About Dog Show, and we've had the joy of modelling for brands such as HiK9 Raised Beds.
A year after Kenai came into my life, I brought home Dakota—Koda for short—a beautiful Rough Collie from Angela Harvey at Wicani Kennels. Koda has incredible potential, and I’m excited to continue showing her and exploring obedience training. I have big plans for Koda, and I’m committed to giving her every opportunity to shine.

1st. IMAGINIST SUPERIOR SUN, Miss MJ Gatt’s 11-month dog. Lovely proportions to head with dark almond eye, clean mouth, little stop on to flat skull. Ears well set and nicely tipped. His body was of good depth and well-sprung rib for age. Rear angulations correct and well-muscled. Coat texture good and finished a pleasing picture. BP.

Gatt’s Imaginist Superior Sun. 17-month-old sable and white. I preferred the head and eye on this dog. I found him to be very attractive with correct head planes, a lovely wedge-shaped head, good round muzzle and nice dark, correctly shaped and well-placed eye, giving a true Collie expression. I found his front to be better constructed than his rear. Good length of neck and body, depth to rib cage and filling of forechest.

Gatt’s Wicani Belladonna. Five-month-old tri female. Another fabulous baby puppy. I didn’t like having to choose between these two, both very different and with lots of merits. In the end, the eye and expression of the sable won me over. This puppy has a nice wedge-shaped head with a pleasing expression for a baby tricolour. She was full of beans and so lovely to see. Her flashy white collar really shows off a lovely, powerful, arched neck of good length. Moving well for a baby, as her construction front and back is in perfect balance, with correct angles. She stands on good strong legs made of good-quality bone.

Gatt’s Wicani Belladonna. Six-month-old tri-bitch. Head in proportion to size, skull flat, planes parallel. Eyes a little round at the moment, to be expected whilst her head matures. This did not deter from her sweet expression, which matched her wonderful temperament. Good body, front and rear angulation good. A little playful on the move, yet glimpses of power and drive were there.

Gatt’s Wicani Belladonna, nicely shaped tricolour bitch, with good overall balance, nice head, dark eye with a complete full correct bite, nice shoulder placement and length of upper arm, good width and depth of chest, well ribbed back, with a good topline, balanced front and rear angulation, strong straight forelegs with good pasterns and feet. She had a good tail set and length and carried it well on the move. She moved soundly and had good extension and rear drive. Best Puppy.
