SCOTTISH BREEDS CHAMPIONSHIP SHOW
MARCH 2015

ROUGH COLLIE CRITIQUE

I'd like to thank all the exhibitors who came to show their dogs under me. I really enjoyed my judging of our lovely breed. I'd also like to thank my two very efficient stewards and also the Scottish Breeds club for awarding me this opportunity.

1st        J & C Tipper: Fridens Cheffield
Tricolour puppy dog, good outline and reach of neck. Front angulation, depth of chest and spring of rib good. Overall balance correct with length of body coming from ribs. Rear angulation good with the correct tail set and length. Good bend of stifle and hocks well let down. He went well on the move. A balanced head with good shape, colour and placement of eyes. Ears well placed of good size and used well. He’s quite mature for one so young.
2nd       W McGill & A Boyd: Wicani Cloudscape
Blue Merle. This young boy is a little raw yet and needs time to grow into himself. That said he has good reach and arch of neck, good length of body with good tail set and length. Could do with a little more bend of stifle. Head not quite balanced and a little narrow and needs to develop. Eye is dark and he used his ears well. Moved very well.

1st        I Ashe: Forrestwalk Rocket Man
Sable dog. Very advanced puppy in great coat with lovely outline, good reach and arch of neck. Front angulation, spring of rib and depth of chest are good as is length of body. His tail is well set on and of correct length with good bend of stifle and well let down hocks. He has a lovely moulded foreface with correct shape, colour and placement of eye. Good ear carriage and used well combining in a very pleasing expression. Movement lacked drive today so hope this improves with maturity.
2nd       S L Wray: Takhisis Trick or Treat
Tricolour. Good outline with good length of body and reach of neck. Front angulation, spring of rib good and tail of correct length. Good bend of stifle and hocks well let down. Good moulded foreface, correct colour, shape and placement of eye with good stop. Ears were a little low and he was reluctant to use them. He moved a little close front and behind and this may improve with maturity.

1st        J & C Tipper: Tiganlea Too Good To Be Forgotten
A sable dog with good outline and good reach of neck. Good front angulation, spring of rib and depth of chest. Rear angulation good with ample bend of stifle and hocks well let down. His tail is of correct length. Good head with moulded foreface and dark eye – balanced head. Ears a little low set and not used as well as I would like. I’d prefer a little more drive on the move but this may improve with time.
2nd       L Scott: Caronlea Charlie Brown at Degallo
Sable dog who looks good standing although I would prefer a little more neck. Good length of body – lacks a little in spring of rib. Head very good with mould of foreface and correct eye shape, colour and placement – ears could be slightly higher. Moved a little close today.
