Wings over Water to Stormsett - 'Storm'
Van M Goodfellow at Wicani x Wicani Wings on her Feet

Of course one Rough Collie is never enough. By now Ray had become interested in showing also, so we decided to put our name down for a puppy. We were both admirers of the Wicani dogs we had seen and Badgers dad is Wicani Spectral Blue via Caprioara, so we approached Angela Harvey of the Wicani Kennel to put our names down for a tricolour bitch.

A few months later we got an email from Angela offering us Storm, a lovely tricolour out of Wicani Wings On Her Feet, and  the wonderful Van-M Goodfellow.

She was shown a lot as a puppy at Open and Championship shows, she won several BPIB and a Reserve BOB, and Group 3 and 4 placing’s, we had a lot of fun with her. She also qualified for Crufts 2013 by winning 1st in Puppy at Paignton.

Oakestelle Indie Rock at Stormsett - 'Indie'
Ch Sandcastles True Topic x Alopex Marionette of Oakestelle

Indiana aka 'Indie', is our first Smooth Collie, they are a British Vulnerable Breed which means they are not as numerous as some breeds and registrations per year are fairly low.

Indie is just 2 and a half, and has had some success in the show ring. She qualified for Crufts 2014 and 2015. She is a very slow maturer and is improving all the time. She is a great character and leads Storm and Badger a merry dance at home. She has fitted into our Collie family and is much loved.

Thanks to Marianne Benton of Oakestelle Collies for this gorgeous girl.

We are hoping to mate her in 2016, the dog we are looking at is clear on all his health stats, which means puppies will be MDR1 Carriers, DM and CEA genetically clear, and pure for smooth. The inbreeding coefficeint of the puppies would be 3.8%.

Caprioara Blueberry Charm at Stormset - 'Badger'
Wicani Spectral Blue via Caprioara x Myriehewe Ouija Board via Caprioara

Badger has now retired to a pet home where he is  thoroughly spoilt and loved by two ladies, they lost their last collie at 14 a few months ago and were devastated, but recently felt ready for another one to  love and spoil, so Badger now lives with them. We are in touch with them and he is loving his new home. It was hard to part with him, but it was the right choice for him.
